Food Bank - Norway
The Food Bank in Oslo is owned by the Blue Cross, the Salvation Army and the City Mission of the Church of Norway, the Gospel Centre of Norway and the Norwegian arm of the International Order of Good Templars.
Surplus food which would otherwise have been discarded is supplied by grocers, wholesalers and manufacturers for handing out to destitute people. The equivalent of roughly 130 000 meals are provided annually.

Hard-up people in Oslo will be offered free supplies when the Food Bank opens this autumn with support from the Kavli Trust. Good but surplus food can then benefit the poor rather than be discarded.
