In 2019, Kavli profits provided 117.7 million NOK for good causes

Profits from Kavli made it possible for Kavli Trust to distribute 117.7 million NOK to good causes last year, as shown in Kavli Trust’s Annual Report 2019.

A different kind of owner

In 2019, the sales of cream cheese, Q-Milk, sauces and other foods produced by The Kavli Group resulted in a considerable contribution to good causes.

The Kavli Group consists of Kavli Sweden, Kavli UK Ltd (Primula Cheese Ltd) and Kavli Suomi/Finland, as well as Kavli Norway and its dairy subsidiary Q-Meieriene in Norway.

Kavli Trust is the sole owner of The Kavli Group, through Kavli Holding AS. All profits that are not reinvested in The Kavli Group’s various businesses, are transferred to Kavli Trust, which in turn distributes the funds to charitable causes.

This has been the case since 1962, when the son of founder Olav Kavli, Knut Kavli, established and transferred the entire business to Kavli Trust.

As The Kavli Group has continued to provide a healthy profit, allocations for Kavli Trust have increased considerably in the last few years; from 20.6 million NOK in 2011, to a record breaking 131.2 million NOK in 2018. In 2019, the total landed on 117.7 million NOK, a sizeable sum which has benefited a number of good causes.

In this the 2019 Annual Report you can read more about the priorities of Kavli Trust, and which projects received funding in 2019.

Thank you to all consumers who contribute through buying Kavli products!
