Barratt Due - Norway
With support from the Kavli Trust, a centre for talent development is being set up by Norway’s Barratt Due Institute of Music to help share knowledge of and expertise in classical music.
This will allow good provision to be established closer to where talented youngsters live. A reference group for the centre is drawn from cultural schools, the wider education sector and the professional music sphere. “A systematic course must be laid at a young age if Norway is to develop good musicians for its orchestras and other cultural bodies,” says rector and violinist Stephan Barratt-Due.
