NOKAbout the project
The Bergen 4-Day Treatment (B4DT), developed at Haukeland University Hospital, is a highly effective intervention for obsessive-compulsive disorder. In just four days, most patients experience significant improvement, with many achieving full recovery.
This project focuses on international dissemination of the method by training clinics and therapists worldwide. At its core is a sustainable model: trained teams go on to train others, creating long-term impact, strong professional networks, and powerful ripple effects across regions and health systems.
How the Kavli Trust funding will be used
Funding from the Kavli Trust will support:
- training and supervision of new and existing clinics
- expansion to new countries, including Nepal, Kenya, Ecuador, and Australia
- development of a global clinical network
- research, evaluation, and quality assurance
- cultural adaptation of the treatment model
The initiative combines early intervention, prevention, and strong local anchoring to ensure lasting impact and long-term value.
