NOKAbout the project
The new Children’s Station in Søndre Nordstrand is a low-threshold service for families with children aged 0–16 who are facing difficult life circumstances. It offers accessible, early support—without referrals or waiting lists—placing the child at the centre while working closely with parents and caregivers.
Families receive tailored follow-up, combining group activities, social meeting places, counselling and practical support. Each family is assigned a dedicated contact person to ensure continuity and long-term impact.
The project is locally anchored and developed in collaboration with community services. Its core aim is prevention: reducing social exclusion and strengthening children’s opportunities to thrive and participate.
What Kavli Trust funding will support
Kavli Trust is funding the establishment and early operations of the new centre. This support enables the development of a sustainable, community-based service where families can access help when they need it most.
Funding will cover professional staff, family activities, individual follow-up and the continued development of a holistic, preventive approach rooted in early intervention.
