Digital interventions for relapse prevention in adolescence
Can digital tools prevent relapse of mental health problems in young people?
What can help young people stay well—after they’ve started to recover?
This project explores how to prevent relapse in adolescents who have previously struggled with anxiety or depression. The aim is to find solutions that work in everyday life—even after treatment has ended.
Participants receive different types of follow-up: some take part in group sessions with a therapist, while others use an app-based solution. This allows researchers to compare what provides the most effective support over time.
The study also looks more closely at what drives relapse—such as worry and rumination—and how these can be reduced.
The goal is to develop simple, digital tools that make it easier for young people to take care of their mental health—and reduce the need for further treatment.
