NOKAbout the project
Evangeliesenteret’s contact centre in Oslo is Norway’s largest humanitarian initiative based entirely on surplus food. Every week, large volumes are distributed to people experiencing homelessness and severe substance dependency – a group at high risk of malnutrition.
Today, the facilities are under strain. Worn infrastructure and inefficient logistics limit both capacity and working conditions. This project will enable a necessary upgrade to secure and expand operations for the future.
What the Kavli Trust funding will support
The grant from the Kavli Trust will fund structural improvements to the packing facility, including floor reinforcement, upgraded access points, and installation of lifting equipment.
These measures will streamline operations, reduce physical strain on staff and volunteers, and significantly increase the volume of food that can be recovered and redistributed.
