Game Changer: Investigating ADHD and Sports Participation
What happens when children with ADHD take part in organized sports?
Can sports make everyday life easier for children and young people with ADHD?
This project explores how participation in organised sports affects children and adolescents with ADHD. The aim is to find out whether physical activity can support better school performance and serve as an alternative or complement to medication.
Using large-scale data from Norwegian sports and health registries, researchers examine links between sports participation, diagnoses, medication use, and social factors.
They also look at how participation varies across different groups, and what this means for wellbeing, school attendance, and completion.
The goal is to provide better insight into how activity and a sense of belonging can become an important part of the support offered to children and young people with ADHD.
