NOKAbout the project
The three-year initiative Give Music a Chance: Networks, skills and free cultural access for youth (2026–2028) brings together four organisations to make culture more accessible to young people in Bergen.
Its dual aim is clear: to provide free cultural activities and to strengthen collaboration and expertise across the organisations involved.
Through six initiatives – including open stages, band practice and dance programmes – the project creates safe, inclusive spaces where young people can participate, grow and express themselves.
This is long-term, preventive work where cultural experiences are used as a powerful tool for inclusion.
What will the funding from the Kavli Trust support?
Funding from the Kavli Trust will help deliver:
- Free cultural activities with no financial barriers

The ambition is to create lasting structures with measurable impact – generating positive ripple effects in local communities.
About the organisation
Give Music a Chance – Norway is a non-profit organisation based in Bergen. It collects, repairs and lends out musical instruments, and creates inclusive spaces where young people can engage with music regardless of their background or financial situation.
Since 2019, the organisation has enabled hundreds of young people to take part in music and cultural activities while promoting sustainability through reuse.
