Young voices driving change

More young people are feeling disconnected and unsure of their ability to influence society. Through jobs in media production, Jungeltelegraf1 gives young people practical experience, confidence, and a platform to be heard.

About the project:

Jungeltelegraf1 is a youth-driven digital media platform where young people create podcasts and social media content for their peers. Through the project “Youth Jobs with Impact,” more young people gain access to meaningful work while building skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging.

The project combines employment with low-threshold, preventive digital outreach. Content focuses on mental health, life skills, democracy, and civic engagement—topics that matter in young people’s everyday lives.

At the same time, the content reaches a wide audience, helping to inform, engage, and empower other young people through the platforms they use daily.

What Kavli Trust funding will support:

Funding from the Kavli Trust will help scale and strengthen Jungeltelegraf1’s work. This includes:

• creating more youth jobs, particularly for those outside education and employment
• producing and distributing podcasts and social media content
• running campaigns to increase youth democratic participation
• building a digital resource hub for schools and frontline services
• strengthening mentoring and expanding local presence across Norway

The investment delivers both immediate impact for participating youth and wider ripple effects through the content they create.

Eteren AS is the organisation behind Jungeltelegraf1. Its mission is to strengthen young people’s mental health, reflective skills, and civic engagement through digital communication and media production.

The ambition is to build a “youth media house” where young people set the agenda and shape conversations. Through hands-on work, guidance, and collaboration, participants develop professional, social, and personal skills—and experience that their voice matters.
