NOKAbout the project
The Kavli Trust has awarded NOK 4 million to the Church City Mission’s project Robust Stovner – scaling through deepening and local anchoring. The project expands a low-threshold counselling service for children, young people and families, while building capacity across schools and local services.
The aim is to prevent mental health challenges and reduce school dropout through early intervention and strong local collaboration. In this next phase, the model will be further developed and prepared for scaling to other communities.
What the funding will support
- The grant from the Kavli Trust will help fund:
- A free, easily accessible counselling service with no referral required
- Closer collaboration with schools to reach children in their daily environment
- Training for teachers and local service providers
- Cross-sector collaboration to strengthen support systems around children
- Development of a scalable model for preventive mental health work
