NOKAbout the project
Train, Work, Job! supports marginalised young people in the Scottish Borders by offering a practical alternative to traditional education. Designed for those who struggle in formal learning environments, the programme combines hands-on training with tailored support in a safe and encouraging setting.
Participants develop real-world skills in areas such as metalwork and trade crafts, while also building confidence, routine and a sense of purpose. The programme focuses on progression, helping young people move towards further education, training or employment.
How the Kavli Trust funding will be used
Funding from the Kavli Trust will support the delivery of three programme cohorts per year, reaching 30–36 young people annually. The grant will cover workshop operations, skilled staff support, and the delivery of practical training.
It will also enable participants to gain recognised qualifications and support the development of a social enterprise model, creating further training and employment opportunities for those who need additional support.
