Can parent guidance stop anxiety in children before it takes hold?
What if we could prevent anxiety in children—before it develops?
This project explores an online programme for parents of children at increased risk of developing anxiety. The aim is to give parents simple, practical tools to support their children early on.
More than 1,000 children aged 4–7 are taking part through schools across the UK. Some families receive support through the programme, while others follow usual care. This allows researchers to see what actually makes a difference.
At the same time, the study looks more closely at why some children develop anxiety—and what can protect against it.
The goal is to find a simple and effective way to identify and prevent anxiety in children at an early stage.
