Hand in Hand - Kenya

Hand in Hand is a Swedish organisation which seeks to boost entrepreneurship in Kenya.

Its work is divided into stages, starting with the formation of local groups, primarily of women, who save and learn together and provide mutual support. In the next phase, they receive microloans and support groups which ensure that everyone repays. Finally, help is provided to develop their businesses for a larger market – which in turn helps their families and local communities to progress. Hand in Hand has worked in 10 countries since 2003, creating almost two million jobs. The Kavli Trust will support its work in Kenya over the next two years.
