Røros Winter Chamber Music Festival - Norway
This festival takes place in the middle of Norway, in the middle of winter, and in the middle of the historic copper-mining town of Røros.
The Kavli Trust has been its principal partner since 2011. The festival also involves young performers, who are given soloist roles and the opportunity to interact with well-established musicians. Lydia Hoem Tjore, winner of the Young People’s Concert in 2014, was the special guest of Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø at a concert in Røros Church on 14 March of that year.
